Greetings Grade 5 Parents/ Guardians,

On Wednesday, January 14th we would like to invite the parents and guardians of present 5th grade students to the Middle School Parent/Guardian Orientation program scheduled for 6:00 p.m. This program is designed to increase your familiarity with the social and academic programs at Commack Middle School and to provide you with an opportunity to meet a variety of administrators and staff members who will be working with your students as they navigate the transition from intermediate to middle school.

If your son or daughter participates in our Special Education program, we invite you to join us at 5:00 p.m. in the Little Theater.

Further information regarding the January 14th parent/guardian orientation is included in the letter attached to this communication and posted to the CMS website.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the evening of January 14th.

Principal’s Message

At Commack Middle School we pride ourselves on creating a child-centered learning environment that enables children to achieve both academic and personal growth. We believe in providing students with access to a rigorous and developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters critical thinking, inquiry, and problem-solving skills. Student involvement in our Middle Years Program (MYP) encourages the development of reflective practices and aids in the advancement of their capacities to think globally; drawing connections between academic disciplines and applying their learnings to larger contexts.
